IKAREE

Seated VR · Comfort

A seated VR game built for comfort

IKAREE is played sitting down, in the captain's chair, from start to finish. There is no artificial walking, no snap turning and no sliding. The starship moves on the viewscreen and outside the windows, while you stay still on a stable bridge.

Why it's comfortable

  • A fixed frame of reference. The bridge around you never moves, so your eyes and inner ear agree.
  • No locomotion, no teleporting. You don't need to move through the world. You give orders and the ship moves. There is no teleport anywhere in the game.
  • Warp on the screen. Warp jumps play out on the viewscreen and in the windows, not as a camera flying through space.
  • Short sessions are fine. Episodes last 25 to 35 minutes, and free flight can be any length.

Who it's for

Players who get motion sick in other VR games, people who want to play from a sofa or an office chair, and anyone who would rather think, talk and decide than run and shoot. Most of the game is spoken, so it also suits players who find precise controller input hard.

Want to stand up?

Live mode, now in development, lets you walk a platform around your real chair and ride the turbolift to eight decks. You still never teleport: you walk, and the lift moves with light and sound while the floor stays still. Seated play stays fully supported.

Controls

Your voice for nearly everything, via push-to-talk. The armrest panels for direct commands: touch them or point with the ray. Subtitles in English, with Czech optional.

Hardware

Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S run IKAREE natively. On PC, it runs on Windows through Air Link, a Link cable or OpenXR. You need a chair, an internet connection and the headset's microphone.
