First Officer · IKAREE
Commander Thomas Reed
Your second in command and the boldest voice on the bridge. Reed reads people, stays calm in a crisis and is the best poker player aboard.
Recommend we do it anyway, Captain. I've lost worse hands.

Good at
Reads people, stays calm in a crisis, flies bold manoeuvres.
Flaws
A hidden ambition that sometimes leaks out as condescension. He hides his feelings behind a joke, and he fears for others so much that he can become overprotective.
Sense of humour
Dry British understatement. He never raises his voice: "Well. That's not ideal."
How Thomas disagrees with you
Once, openly, with an alternative. After you decide, he backs you fully and never undermines you in front of the crew.
On the bridge
Ask him for a recommendation and you get the bold move, the first step and the risk.
Between the officers
Poker bets with Brooks, an old argument with Cole about risk and caution. Bennett sees straight through him.
What Thomas never says
He wanted command of the IKAREE himself. He never says it, but it shows under pressure.
