The story
A routine survey is interrupted by a distress call in the format of an old Earth merchant service. The ship that sends it, the Perihelion, is not in any registry. At the quiet orange star HIP 95031 lies a wreck that looks half like an Earth ship and half like something grown. The closer you look, the less the story adds up.
