Humans
You know them. Fourteen billion of them, the youngest and most numerous members of the Union.
History
After the climate crisis of the 21st century and the Water War of 2052 to 2061, humanity was united under the Terran Administration. Warp drive came in 2131, contact with the Vaelori in 2137. Humans bring the Union energy and impatience in equal measure.
How they live
A post-scarcity society in the Core, where work is self-expression. On the colonies life is harder and more pioneering. Their culture is a blend of everything that survived the crises.
Technology
Universal but best at nothing: warp cores, transporters, replicators, phase weapons, shields. Humans are the best integrators of other species' technology.
Ships
The Union fleet standard: light-grey hull, long spine, saucer section and two warp nacelles glowing blue. The IKAREE is the peak of this line.
Friction inside the Union
The others see Earth as first among equals. The Assembly's seat on the Moon is a permanent dispute.
